The 7th stop of the 2014 Australian N1SCO Series took place on the spectacular waters of Cotton Tree in Maroochydore QLD, aka the “Sunshine Coast”. The day’s events brought out the sunshine, giving participants a smoking warm day with crystal clear water – perfect for a fast, fun and exciting day of N1SCO Racing!
It was non-stop action from start to finish through 3 rounds of 200m and 400m sprints in both Men’s and Women’s, followed by a timed distance race utilising the full arena.
During the Women’s finals, it was neck and neck between Jayne Ryeland and Lorraine Paciullo, with many very close finishes and position changes keeping the beach alive and cheering. Jayne Ryeland proved to be the faster by a mere 1 point overall to take the win with Lorraine in nearby second.
The Men’s heats were always changing in results. As the beach roared through each of the sprints, it was Trevor Tunnington who showed his consistency taking the overall win in the Men’s closely followed by Marcel De Paula in second.
Overall, it was another huge day with plenty of the usual laughs and smiles on the beach and puffed competitors as they witnessed just how fun racing can be with N1SCO and the ONE 12’6” Inflatable! There’s plenty more N1SCO events planned for the Sunshine Coast, so stay tuned for more action!
